What areas of the body can I treat?
Eclipse MicroPen™ can be used on all parts of the body; face, neck, decollete, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.

What does it feel like?
The feeling associated with the Eclipse MicroPen™ is similar to light sandpaper being moved across the skin. While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating needle tip reduces discomfort while the applied hydrating gel also makes the treatment more tolerable.

How long does the procedure take?
The micro needling procedure takes 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the area treated. Please allow 60-90 minutes for micro needling with PRP.

What is the downtime?
Immediately after the treatment you will notice an immediate glow with some redness to the skin. The extent of the redness is dependent on how aggressive the treatment is, but with 2mm depth the extent of this procedure in any given area, the redness is mild to moderate.

The total healing time depends on the Eclipse MicroPen™ setting used and the number of overlapping passes your skincare professional performs. On average, patients are red up to 2 to 4 days. Some clients heal completely in as little as 24 hours.

When will I see the results?
Clients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment as collagen production continues.

How many treatments will I need?
Some clients only require a single treatment, once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most clients to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For clients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6 week intervals.

What is Micro-Needling?
Automated micro-needling is an innovation in aesthetics for the treatment of the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and the skin’s texture, tone and color. The skin’s repair process results in improvement of the appearance of softer wrinkles.

A sterile cartridge containing 12 tiny micro-points is attached to the Eclipse MicroPen®. Your skincare professional will apply a thin layer of saline solution to your skin and select the appropriate treatment setting based on your unique needs.

Next, in a single motion, the pen will be gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding until the entire treatment area has been covered.

What is Micro-Needling with PRP?
Micro-Needling with Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) is an effective and versatile tool for many types of aesthetic and healing treatments, including: skin rejuvenation, reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, rosacea, active acne and acne scarring, other scarring, and stretch marks. PRP injections are effective in therapies for tendonitis, osteoarthritis, pain management, hair re-growth, sexual dysfunction, and often used in dentistry and plastic surgery to decrease healing time and enhance results.

Although blood is mainly a liquid (plasma), it also contains small solid components (red cells, white cells, and platelets.) The platelets are best known for their importance in clotting blood. However, platelets also contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors which are very important in the healing process. PRP is plasma with many more platelets than what is typically found in blood. The concentration of platelets — and, thereby, the concentration of growth factors — can be 5 to 10 times greater (or richer) than usual. To develop a PRP preparation, blood must first be drawn from a client by clinician. Then platelets are separated from other blood cells and their concentration is increased during a process, done with a special collection vial, called centrifugation. Then the increased concentration of platelets is re-introduced topically onto client’s skin aesthetic rejuvenation or healing.

PRP has received significant attention in the media as a result of its use in treating sports injuries in athletes; PRP is injected into the joint or injured area to promote quicker healing and decreased swelling. In aesthetics, PRP is used as a stand-alone procedure for the face and skin, or used in combination with fillers and Micro needling. It has been recently popularized as a natural, safe, and effective anti-aging process. An intensive version of this procedure has become popular with celebrities known as the “Vampire Facelift”.
